The First Seminole War started when Spain owned Florida. Spain didnt have a very tight grip on Florida when they owned it wich means their borders werent so protected. That lead to runaway slaves going to Florida and escaping the United States and they became free. The Europeans got some seminole tribes to fight with them and accomplish certain tasks. The seminoles traded supplies with the African American Slaves. They traded things like weapons and clothinhg. When the Americans found out that the Seminole were working with the Europeans thats when they started to try and take over. Once the Americans clashed with the Seminole there were series of battles that would soon be called the "Seminole Wars." |
